Frequently Asked Questions

When is a good time to make my Will?

The best time to make a Will is now. Unfortunately, many people die without making a Will, resulting in avoidable problems for those left behind. If you act now, you can have peace of mind that you have protected your estate and provided for your loved ones.

Why should I use a solicitor to write my Will?

Using a solicitor is the best way to make sure that your wishes will be followed. You can search for a solicitor on the Law Society website www.lawsociety.org.uk

Please click here for a pdf guide to preparing for a visit to a solicitor.

Can a gift to charity help me pay less tax?

Technically, yes. Gifts to UK registered charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax. ZANE would strongly recommend that you speak to a solicitor for advice on tax issues.

How will ZANE use my gift?

When we receive your gift, we will put it to use wherever the need is greatest.

If Iíve left a gift to ZANE in my Will, should I tell you?

We would like to know who are Legacy pledgers are. It gives us the opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful decision you have made. Letting us know also helps us plan for the future and keep you informed about our work.

What happens if I change my mind?

You are free to change your mind at any time. Letting us know that you plan to include a gift to ZANE in your Will doesnít commit you to doing so. All that we ask is that you tell us if you change your mind.
