Tom’s Trek 2025 – The Work and Walk Continue
As the situation in Zimbabwe continues to deteriorate, our commitment to those struggling to survive in Zimbabwe remains absolute. That is why we, alongside our dog Moses, are embarking on another sponsored walk for ZANE.
We walk because ZANE remains the only lifeline for many of the old, the hungry and the sick. We walk to help the most vulnerable and marginalised people in Zimbabwe; we walk to support those who have nowhere else to turn but ZANE. We walk because the work, and therefore the walk, must continue.
Life in Zimbabwe is a gruelling battle for survival. There is no material healthcare; no social services to rely on; inflation remains rampant as the cost of living escalates further. Coupled with power cuts, water shortages and failing infrastructure, life in Zimbabwe for the poor is relentless and exhausting.
We walk to help people like Betty and Sylvia; honest, hardworking people who deserve a different evening of their lives. We walk because your donations and messages of support inspire us to continue. If you can, please sponsor our ZANE walk. Your kindness and generosity save lives. It also sends a message of hope.
By supporting ZANE you are letting the vulnerable know they are not forgotten. We see them. We hear them. With your help and encouragement, we walk to provide food, medicine, shelter, compassion and dignity.
Thank you.

The Route

You can download GPX files from DropBox here for those who want to use them in their favourite GPS app. Once we have produced them, your will also be able to download an OS map (pdf and Word versions) of the route for each day.
The table below gives the start points for each day. These are also the end points for the previous days. The final column gives the What3Words references. This is a clever system used by the emergency services to pinpoint locations. To use it, please download the What3Words app or go to www.what3words.com and enter the reference in the search box.
